Silica Remover System - HYDRO-SRC®
Silica is one of the most abundant elements on earth. This mineral dissolving in rainwater as it passes through layers of sandstone to form
silica acid.
When high silica content water is used in commercial or industrial application especially in heat generating, problem will be encountered with silicate scale that caused costly consequences.
Scale that forms on heating elements and in pipes reduces heat transfer efficiency leading to unnecessary and wasteful fuel usage; one eighth of an inch of scale on a heating element will result in 25% more energy being used. Scale buildup can also caused blockages in pipework and control valve.
|
|
| Silica scale normally formed in boiler as a result of poor OH alkalinity controlled. The high volatility of silica also can cause carry over problem that resulted deposition of silica scale on steam turbine. The safe level of silica allowed in boiler water is subject to the operating pressure of the boiler. The risk of silicate deposition can be minimized via the process of eliminating silica from the boiler feed water by installing the Silica Remover System.
The Hydro-SRC® series offered an economical alternative to eliminate silica comparable to conventional
deionizer or reverse osmosis system. The high silica affinity resin employed in the system can effectively removed silica via ion exchange process. The exhausted resin can then reactivated through regeneration process. These systems are available in a versatile range of outputs from 1.0 m3/hr to 50 m3/hr.

How to
select Silica Remover System
To select the
Silica Remover unit bested to meet your requirement, you need to establish
the following details:
-
the
maximum flow of treated water required per hour, taking into account
peak demands.
-
the
total volume of treated water required per day ( 24 hours period ).
-
the
total anion and silica load of raw water supply.
-
whether
regeneration must take place at a predetermined time of low/zero
demand.
The table
below are intended to assist you in selecting a SRC unit based on our
standard sizing.
Please contact us if you need more data or assistance in sizing unit.
